Responsibilities

  • To help families and individuals by teaching nutrition information and food related skills, encouraging healthy eating habits, and teaching skills to stretch food dollars.
  • To identify, recruit,  train and manage volunteers to deliver appropriate nutrition, health and weight management educational programs to meet the needs of a diverse audience,  adults and youth.
  • Coordinates and Collaborate to support, develop, and implement policy, system and environmental changes related to nutrition, health, wellness, food security and physical activity. 
  • Builds community capacity and forges partnerships with local agencies in opportunistic areas of improvement for SNAP-eligible individuals and families and further the mission of the Virginia Cooperative Extension and Family Nutrition Program (FNP).  
  • Develops and implements evaluation plans, reports client impacts and outcomes and determines program needs by monitoring trends and issues
